Thomas Badeau (clarinet) and Nahuel Baeza (violin) have formed a brand-new duo for Fest-Noz (traditional Breton dance parties), although their respective backgrounds demonstrate a solid musical experience, nurtured by both traditional music and more improvisational styles. Thomas Badeau is now a regular on Breton dance floors, having formed his first groups in the late 1990s. Originally from the Nantes region and introduced to traditional music at the age of seven, the clarinetist is deeply rooted in dance music and demonstrates a refined knowledge of tradition while also incorporating a more personal touch into his compositions. Nahuel Baeza, a French-Chilean violinist born in Angers, comes from a more diverse musical background. Having started at a young age with South American music and the folk dances of Angers, he later trained at the Didier Lockwood Music Center in a jazz program, with a detour into Gypsy music. He now brings his melodic background and improvisational freedom to the duo. Together, they explore a repertoire of dance music, driven by listening, sharing, and the desire to bring Breton music to life in the moment, with energy and simplicity.

A thunderous and generous partnership for dance, Vincent and François have forged their connection on stage since their time with the group Esquisse, a band renowned for its energy and inventiveness. They return with the duo Marin Badeau in an intense and explosive format: two musicians, an undiminished rapport, and a constant desire to play, surprise, and make people dance.

Sonerion 44, the Breton pipers' federation, is once again organizing competitions during the Guérande Celtic Festival. One competition is for drummers and serves as a qualifier for the Brittany championship final in Pontivy in November. There are also competitions for couples (bombarde/bagpipes, bombarde/koz) and trios (bombarde/bagpipes/drummer, bombarde/koz/drummer). The trio competition awards the Bob La Coop trophy.
